    5. Demonstration model with ERA attachment female. Use a hard alloy. Minimum Vickers hardness number of 200 and at least 85,000 psi ultimate tensile strength. If you are using an alloy with a hardness range heat treat it to its maximum hardness. (Figure 5)

    6. Demonstration model with ERA attachment females showing advantage of a universal action hinge. The attachments are vertically parallel, but need not be parallel to the mid-sagittal plane. Single plane hinges, like the Dalbo attachment, should be parallel both vertically and sagittally to prevent excessive wear, binding, and breakage. (Figure 6)

    7. Black, fabrication male. Creates retention socket in the processed denture base acrylic which mechanically anchors the final ERA retention males. There are specific fabrication males for ERA partial denture, reduced vertical partial denture, and overdenture attachments. All three types of fabrication males are black. Wax was used to block out under the male and female prior to picking up the fabrication male with autopolymerizing acrylic. (Figure 7)

    8. ERA partial denture and overdenture attachments have 0.4mm resiliency. The resiliency is created by the built-in spacer of the fabrication male and is activated by replacing the fabrication male with one of the four final males . white, orange, blue, or gray. (Figure 8)
