Dennis Urban, CDT
Dennis Urban, CDT has over 45 years of expertise in the dental field including lab management, technical training, product development, quality assurance, teaching, writing, and lecturing. In addition to being a seasoned dental lab technician and former laboratory owner, Dennis has been an eminent lecturer and trainer to dentists and dental technicians worldwide since 1985. His technical articles have been published in numerous dental publications in the US, Canada, and Europe. Dennis was the recipient of the prestigious 2024 CDT of The Year Award and the 2007 NADL Excellence in Education Award. Dennis is the Director of Education and Training at Sterngold Dental.
Course Description:
This course will include clinical lecture and hands-on training which will give you the competence and confidence to offer implant retained overdentures to your patients.
Learning Objectives:
- Review principles of complete dentures relating to overdenture therapy.
- Learn overdenture attachment choices.
- Understand overdenture options.
- Understand implant strategy.
- Learn principles of patient selection and treatment planning.
- Prosthetically designing cases and occlusal schemes.
- Review Material Science.
Hands on exercises (Simulated mandible):
- Place 4 Conventional implants.
- Perform Pickup using Snap attachments.
- Create a printed surgical guide.
- Place guided surgical sleeves in surgical guide.
