Applying what you have learned about the importance of denture and overdenture treatment planning, you will now focus on lower denture stabilization using conventional and small diameter implants.

• Indications, contraindication.
• Proper patient selection, and treatment planning.
• Placing small diameter and standard implants (hands-on).
• Chairside pickups (hands-on).
 
Learning Objectives:
 
• Review basic implant biology
• Understand indications, contraindications, and patient selection for implant placement.
• Understand overdentures and the value of mandibular stabilization.
• Understand how to choose between conventional and small diamter implants
• Learn how to place conventional implants.
• Learn how to place mandibular small diameter implants.
• Learn how to convert an existing mandibular denture.

Speaker: Gene Peterson, MS, CDT

In Gene’s role as Director of Technical Development and Learning, he has responsibility for and oversees all aspects of Sterngold’s technology and education efforts. He plays a critical role in product strategy, digital development, educational content, methods and directives. With over 30 years of experience, Gene has an extensive and diverse background in the dental industry including research and development of clinical and dental laboratory digital workflows, protocols, software, and materials. He holds a BS in Biology and an MS in Biology/Human Anatomy and Physiology. Gene is a PhD candidate completing his research and dissertation.
